The first is texting someone. The other four grow on the material you just produced, and ask for two minutes a day — whenever suits you.
You use Glotta instead of the system keyboard and write normally. As you finish the sentence, the translation appears above the keys. One tap swaps it in and you send that.

From every sentence Glotta keeps the words, not the sentence. Each one joins your vocabulary with a count of how often you have met it, and moves up a stage: met, understood, learnt.

Every week, a set chosen from the words you actually come across. Study introduces them a piece at a time, Review keeps them turning over, and the keyboard asks you a question now and then, between one message and the next.
Discovering and understanding happen in the app, in two minutes. Using it happens in a chat: you write it in a real message and the keyboard ticks it off by itself.
Tap a sentence and it comes apart: the verb with its conjugations, the words worth keeping, the reason for each. And you can ask it questions in a chat.

Impersonal: the subject is the thing you fancy, not the person. After “que” it takes the subjunctive.

A conversation, written or spoken, steered by the words in your set: the questions are built so that the natural answer uses exactly those. You answer, in the language you are learning — and without the fear of getting it wrong in front of someone.

It replaces the system keyboard in every app. It translates the sentence you are writing, swaps it in with a tap, and when you write in the language you are learning it corrects you and tells you why.

All four read the same vocabulary: what you write with the keyboard is already there when you open the app, the conversation gets you using those very words, and the widget draws from the same place. And with your account it is there on your next phone too.
Above the keys, when «you write in your language»
The starting point. The words worth keeping are lit inside the translation, and the line above tells you when one is new or comes from your set.
you write in Spanish: It corrects as you go, and tells you why. When you write in the language you are learning, Glotta does not translate: it proofreads. The corrected words are lit, the reason sits in the line above, and “Improve” offers a more natural version.
the field is empty: A recall on the words in your set. Now and then, when you are not writing anything, the bar offers you a few questions. You decide how hard it tries to be noticed — discreet, prominent or insistent — and “Later” is always there.
The arrow on the right opens the bar: your latest sentences one to a page, with the analysis, the translation and the reason for every correction. A gear leads to recall, register, pause and language — without leaving the chat.

A keyboard extension lives in very little memory. So Glotta first checks whether it has seen the sentence before, works in a task that can be interrupted, and if it really cannot manage, steps aside rather than taking the keyboard down with it.

In secure fields iOS hands the keyboard nothing: there, Glotta reads nothing, translates nothing and learns nothing. That is not a setting of ours, it is the system — and there is no way to turn it on.

A cascade of engines tries strongest-first down to the simplest, and stops at the first one that can genuinely answer: when the cloud is not there, it falls to the ones on the phone.
1 rule
A rewrite that drops a number, eats an emoji, or answers with an explanation is thrown out before it reaches you. The way a generative model fails is by giving a confident, false answer.
None of this is visible while you type, and that is the point: the interesting part of Glotta's engineering is the part that saves you the wait.
